Each June Ford enthusiasts from around the world converge on Carlisle, Pennsylvania for the annual Carlisle Ford Nationals car show. A staple of the Carlisle Events automotive portfolio since 1995, Ford weekend hosts over 3,200 show cars and 60,000+ guests. For 2025, guests who roll in between June 6-8 not only can enjoy a National Parts Depot Showfield that welcomes a diverse mix of show cars and trucks spanning decades of production, but they can also enjoy a mighty quartet of special displays; all designed to be jaw-droppers!
2025’s Ford Nationals featured vehicle displays highlight the 60th Anniversary of the Shelby GT350, a pair of Ford GT displays, including one that highlights 20 years since it became available to today’s consumer, a 70-year celebration of the Thunderbird, the Mercury Motorsports Capri Reunion, and North American MK1 Ford Focus 25th Anniversary.
Peeling the layers back on each showcase, let’s start with the Shelby GT350. It has become the name of legend in the automotive world, first with the original GT350s of the mid-to-late 1960s, then the modern iterations from Ford and Shelby. Built on the premise of performance, racers from Ken Miles to Hailie Deegan have competed using the GT350 throughout its storied history. This display will not only be part of Building T but celebrated on the Showfield as part of a variety of classes.
From the Shelby GT350 to the Ford GT, all eyes will be focused on these displays. While 2002 may be the year it technically debuted, 2005 is when it hit dealerships as a production model. From there, the Ford GT became an instant classic. 20 years later, it’s time to celebrate these icons of performance. There will be TWO GT showcases, including one that will feature a mix of race cars, rare builds, GT icons, and more. The other GT display will be hosted under a giant tent just north of the building. Under the tent, guests can enjoy even more cars, special guests, seminars, presentations, etc.; all focused on the GT’s storied heritage.
20 is good, and 60 is even better, but how about 70? Let’s go back to 1955 when Ford’s iconic Thunderbird first hit dealer lots. The look and style of the car may have varied over the years, but the passion and dedication of those who love it have been unchanged. Join the International Thunderbird Club (ITC), the Vintage Thunderbird Club International (VTCI), the National American Turbo Coupe Organization (NATCO), and the Super Coupe Club of America (SCCA) as they host large-scale regional meets. The ITC and VTCI have special events and gatherings planned and overall, the T-Bird tent will be busting at the seams with some of the coolest birds on the block. In addition, an on-grounds Thunderbird parade is planned for Friday.
For the 25th Anniversary of the North American MK1 Ford Focus, we’ll look at a ride that debuted in 2000. This compact from Ford had numerous editions, corporate show builds, and specialty builders along the way. Expect to see a variety of editions, from Street to Kona, Sony to Mach, plus SVTs and S2s, Saleen hatches, Roush hatches, and a little bit of everything in between. The display will also feature a memorabilia display including parts, apparel, event goodies, and more.
Another great showcase is a reunion of the Mercury Motorsport Capris. After dominating the track, Mercury capitalized on its success by choosing the Capri RS as the pace car for the famed Motor City 100. Styled like the Roush Protofab SCCA Capris of 1984, 100 were originally scheduled to be built in time for the 1985 race, but only 54 were available by race day. This year, the Carlisle Ford Nationals, in partnership with MotorsportsCapri.com, welcome a group of these super-rare fox-bodies, plus special guests and activities.
Finally, the Ford Nationals Select takes over Building Y. These vehicles are hand-selected and include some of the best examples of production you’ll ever see. This year’s select gallery welcomes a 2008 Bullitt Verification Prototype as well as the 2003 Terminator Cobra which received the very rare show package treatment from Ford.
Many fine examples are anticipated for each feature, with prominent placement throughout the grounds. This includes buildings, display tents, the National Parts Depot Showfield itself, and more. Consideration for each display is open now, with applications being accepted through March.
Gates open at 7 AM each day and kids 12 and under are admitted FREE, while students 13+ are admitted for just $5 (with valid in-person ID).
